Las Posadas are one of Mexico’s most cherished Christmas traditions, celebrated from December 16 to 24. These nine days represent Mary and Joseph’s journey as they searched for shelter before Jesus’s birth. Each night, participants reenact this search, singing and praying until the “pilgrims” are finally given refuge. The celebration ends with a joyful party featuring piñatas, tamales, and warm punch.
Streets full of lights, music, and Christmas cheer.
